Who We Are
Two Dogs and a Prayer is where creativity, curiosity, a little faith, and two very opinionated dogs come together.
We’re a small Tennessee maker business creating handmade gifts, home goods, personalized pieces, and whatever else we get inspired to make next.
Some things begin with a carefully drawn plan. Others begin with, “I wonder if we can make that?”
We like both kinds.
Around here, creating means experimenting with new materials, learning new tools, trying ideas that may or may not work the first time, and occasionally discovering that the mistake was better than the original plan.
And somewhere nearby are Jack and Chico, the two dogs behind the name, supervising the entire operation while contributing absolutely nothing to production.
Well, except the logo.

What Inspires Us
We believe the best things don’t have to be mass-produced or perfectly polished to be meaningful.
We’re inspired by things that make people smile. A gift that could only belong to one person. Something funny you weren’t expecting. Something useful made beautiful. An old idea given a new purpose. And sometimes an idea that’s just weird enough that we have to try it.
Our inspiration comes from everyday life, family, our Tennessee home, the maker community around us, and the simple satisfaction of turning an idea into something you can actually hold in your hands.
We also believe creativity is meant to be shared.
That means learning from other makers, teaching what we learn, supporting our community, and finding ways to use what we make to do a little good along the way.
Why “Two Dogs and a Prayer”?
That’s the easy part.
Jack + Chico + faith + a sense of humor.
Jack and Chico are our resident shop dogs, quality-control inspectors, break-time coordinators, and the inspiration behind our name and logo.
The prayer part represents something equally important to us: faith that things have a way of working out, gratitude for the opportunity to build something of our own, and the occasional prayer uttered immediately before turning on an expensive piece of equipment for the first time.
Sometimes you’ve got a plan.
Sometimes you’ve got two dogs and a prayer.
We think that’s enough to get started.
What We Make
Two Dogs and a Prayer isn’t built around making thousands of identical things.
We’d rather make interesting things for real people.
Our shop will continue to evolve as we experiment with laser cutting and engraving, printing, embroidery, paper crafting, personalization, and whatever creative rabbit hole we wander into next.
You’ll find handmade and personalized gifts, home and seasonal pieces, fun things for dog lovers, limited-run creations, and probably a few things that don’t fit neatly into any category.
That’s part of the fun.
Made in Tennessee. Made by Us.
We’re a small business, and we intend to stay connected to the people who make this possible.
That means supporting other makers and small businesses when we can, participating in our local maker community, and looking for meaningful ways to use our skills and supplies to give back.
We aren’t interested in pretending everything happens effortlessly behind the scenes.
It doesn’t.
There will be prototypes. There will be spectacular failures. There will be things we make once and decide never to make again. And every once in a while, there will be something that comes off the machine and makes us say:
“Oh. We’re definitely making more of those.”
That’s Two Dogs and a Prayer.
